With a master’s in education, EMCC-accredited coaching, psychometric testing expertise, and project management qualifications, I bring both structure and people insight. Why do I think it is important to get onboarding right? 
 

I believe onboarding is one of the most overlooked parts of the employee journey — yet it’s the moment that shapes whether people stay, perform, and thrive. The reality is clear: 35% of UK employees leave within their first year, and around one in five go within the first 45 days. On the other hand, people who experience positive onboarding are 69% more likely to stay beyond three years. With upcoming reforms likely to give employees unfair dismissal rights much sooner, investing in onboarding isn’t just about doing the right thing for your people — it’s essential for protecting performance, culture, growth and your reputation.
